You've just had elective surgery and have been told you will need "rehab." You've been involved in an auto accident and need "aggressive therapy" before you can return home. Your family member has suffered a stroke - where do you turn? Fort Vancouver Convalescent Center (FVCC)
Our 92-bed rehabilitation/nursing facility has been Vancouver's choice since 1981. FVCC offers 24-hour care to individuals recovering from post-elective surgeries, cardiac surgeries, orthopedic conditions, and other illnesses and injuries. We provide aggressive rehabilitative therapy services (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and recreational therapy) delivered by our 35 therapists and therapy assistants. We structure your rehab based on your individual needs and medical diagnosis. Each day we have 16-18 therapists and therapy assistants all dedicated to working toward one goal - getting you well and back to the things that matter to you.
We are a bit different . . . - We're a family business
FVCC is a family business in an industry dominated by large chains. Not being a large corporation, we feel we have a greater incentive to exceed your expectations. We are large enough to get the job done yet small enough to respond quickly to your individual needs.
- Staffing
How many caregivers a facility has on duty at any given time is extremely important. Quality care takes a high level of staffing. Medicare measures it in terms of "Nursing staff hours and nursing assistant hours per resident day." As documented by the Federal government, FVCC staffs at a significantly higher level than other facilities. We also do something that is unique - in addition to the mandatory Washington Sate background checks, we do national criminal background investigations for every prospective employee. We also drug test immediately upon hire as well as randomly.
- Your accommodations await
All of our rooms at FVCC are either large private or semi-private rooms with large windows, hardwood-look floors, and warm, inviting color schemes. Patients enjoy wall-mounted televisions with 76 channels of cable to enjoy their favorite programs. Each room has his or her bedside telephone, with a direct dial phone number for privacy and convenience.
- Restaurant-Style Dining
Meals are planned and prepared under the direction of our executive chef, David Vonada. While staying at FVCC, you will be able to choose from three different entrees during lunch and dinner. Our culinary options range from home-style favorites to exotic ethnic dishes. Our selections are made from scratch using local produce and fresh herbs. From home-made soups to organic salads, David continues to impress our patients with new and innovative dishes. Let us know your preferences. David can accommodate your special diet and wishes. "Hospital food" never tasted so good.
- Recreational Therapy services
When you come to FVCC, we promote a healthy body, as well as a healthy mind. After a day of hard work in therapy, relax with your favorite book or movie provided by our recreational therapist. You can log in and keep up on email with our complimentary Internet access, or have fun in your room with the grandkids playing a competitive game on our Wii gaming system. We also have two lounges available for visiting, reading or playing cards. |
